In speaking to members and Carers at our recent 20th Annual General Meeting President Jean Tops congratulated family carers in Gippsland for holding fast to the belief that we have earned the right to receive government funding for Regional Carer Networks and our track record proved this today.

Nay-sayers have for years claimed  that Gippsland carers would never last, but you have all proved them so wrong. We are proud of the support we offer to carers as a peer support and Advocacy service free of charge to caring families.  We are proud of the generous volunteers who step up to the plate every year to deliver grass roots support in the form of information, education, links to services, support and advocacy.

As the only advocacy voice supporting and assisting carers on a one to one basis we know how grateful many are for the help they receive. This would not be possible without the support and help of many donations and grants to sustain our efforts.

All of our pleadings to governments both state and federal have thus far born little fruit, however, we are determined to continue the struggle and the lobbying that will one day bring justice and fairness to the magnificence of the work each and everyone of Gippslands caring family deliver as unpaid carers providing accommodation personal care, love and support to family members who have a disability, aged frailty or mental illness.

We all long for the day when decision-makers realise the the system will fail miserably if unpaid carers cease to care.
